Director, Mining Operations

Lincoln Strategic is retained to source a Director, Mining Operations to be responsible for supporting the Operations team in monitoring and improving producing and development of assets.

Key accountabilities include:

• Participating in the review and consolidation of information from all of operating and development assets on a monthly and/or quarterly basis, including preparation of materials for presentation to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
• Assisting in the development of annual and life of mine production budgets/forecasts.
• Maintaining and improving operation management systems, including production reporting, development asset tracking and overall asset health (technical, financial, political, social, etc.).
• Completing a detailed annual technical reviews.
• Providing technical assistance to partner operations/projects wherever possible

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in mining or metallurgical engineering.
• Advanced degree in engineering, business, finance or mineral economics would be an asset.
• Language skill in Spanish would be an asset.

Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years experience in the mining industry including significant operating site experience in engineering and operational oversight/analysis.
• Strong understanding of unit mining operations in open pit and underground mining, as well as an overall understanding of the mining industry and markets, with knowledge of business an asset.
• Demonstrated experience in database management, applied data analytics, machine learning and the use of business intelligence software.
