The Vice President, Projects will be responsible for oversight and execution of the UG mine plan. 

  • Work to achieve the short-term goals and also set the strategic vision for achieving the Company’s long term goals. The incumbent will be a strong contributor to the strategic planning process for the Company, including leading technical analysis in respect of asset development
  • Manage overall asset development including:
    • Devising and meeting operational budgets and targets.
    • Day to day management of, and review responsibilities for, senior employees and consultants.
    • Determine project development strategies, including drilling campaigns, technical studies, and other programs regarding the Company’s current and future projects.
    • Manage, support, and evaluate personnel and subcontractors under his/her responsibility
  • Work with the leadership team in overseeing relations with external stakeholders including government, local communities, and other Stakeholders
  • Work with the leadership team to implement appropriate standards and systems and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and safety standards.
  • Procuring and managing contractors and technical consultants
  • Assisting to hire the commissioning and operations team

Experience:

Candidates will need to carefully articulate and demonstrate the following experience to be considered for the role

  • A minimum of 20+ progressive years in mining and leading development of mine properties, with experience in North America.
  • Above average working knowledge of mine planning and optimization practices and software
  • Annual budget responsibility for P&L and Balance sheet performance
  • Strong technical and operations leadership, combined with business acumen, as well as the ability to meet short- and long-term goals through effective business planning capabilities
  • Construction experience with Large Scale Capital projects
  • Experience in Investor and other stakeholder presentations and forums.
